On October 25-28, the 24th National Academic Exchange Conference on Epoxy Resin Application Technology and the Member Representative Conference of the Epoxy Resin Branch of the China Synthetic Resin Association were held in Mianyang, Sichuan. More than 200 experts and scholars from universities, government agencies, enterprises, and other parts of the country in the field of epoxy resin gathered together to discuss the current development status and prospects of epoxy resin application technology.

Yantai Donghua Material Science produces a variety of high-performance epoxy resin raw materials, including cycloaliphatic epoxy resins, multifunctional epoxy resins, curing agents and modifiers, which can be applied in fields such as composite materials, surface materials, electrical insulation, adhesives, etc.

Alicyclic epoxy resin DE021E is different from ordinary glycidyl ether and has better performance. It is easily cured with acid anhydrides and phenolic curing agents under heating; it has low reactivity with amine curing agents and can be cured by ring-opening polymerization under a cationic catalyst; especially in a strongly acid composite catalytic environment, it can be cured rapidly by heat energy and ultraviolet light.

Cycloaliphatic epoxy resin medium and low temperature curing system can achieve room temperature or medium and low temperature curing. With a high fault tolerance rate, (A:B=100:60-90), the curing process is more stable and is not easily affected by moisture, alkalinity and other substances. The cured product has very good UV resistance:

1. The cured product is colorless and transparent with high light transmittance;
2. The cured product has high hardness, Shore hardness 85D;
3. The cured product has excellent resistance to yellowing.

With the current high price of aluminum and increasing pressure on frame costs, component companies have increased demand for cost reduction; specific scenarios such as offshore, coastal photovoltaic, and photovoltaic projects for saline-alkali land also put forward higher requirements for corrosion resistance and weather resistance.

Cycloaliphatic epoxy resin can be used in composite material fields such as UV cure prepregs, rapid winding resins, UV cure repair resins and photovoltaic module frames. It can be used in offshore and water floating photovoltaic power stations, saline-alkali photovoltaic power stations, distributed rooftop photovoltaic power stations, etc.

Cycloaliphatic epoxy resin has excellent aging resistance and retains excellent mechanical properties after aging.

After acid, alkali, double 85, and UV aging tests, the mechanical retention rate is >90%, and it can be applied to outdoor weather-resistant composite materials.
