Cycloaliphatic epoxy resins have been widely used in coating fields, including wood coatings, 3C coatings, paper varnish, etc., due to their characteristics of low viscosity, high electrical insulation, strong weather resistance, UV resistance and high crosslinking degree of cured products. All these fields have mature application cases.

During the exhibition, Donghua’s R&D engineer gave a technical lecture on the application of cycloaliphatic epoxy resins in metal-based surface coatings, explaining in detail the curing methods of cycloaliphatic epoxy resins and their applications in iron can coating, coil coating, aluminum-based coating, EB curing and plastic substrate coating. Donghua continues to develop raw materials and applications in accordance with current industry development trends to meet our customers’ demands.
Cycloaliphatic Epoxy Resins for Coil Coating Application
The curing speed of cycloaliphatic epoxy resins matches the existing coil iron and aluminum processes when applied in coil coatings, at the same time there is no need to replace your existing production equipment. Modified cycloaliphatic epoxy resins are all-solid and solvent-free products, with a competitive price compared to traditional 100% solid coil coatings.
Cycloaliphatic Epoxy Resins for EB Curing Application
Compared to EB curing of free-radical systems, the cycloaliphatic epoxy system does not require nitrogen protection and saves costs. In terms of mechanical properties, EB curing is superior to UV curing in both ball impact and T-bend, and mechanical processing performance decreases less with increasing film thickness.
Cycloaliphatic Epoxy Resins for Coatings on Plastic Substrates
The cycloaliphatic epoxy resin in the cationic UV curing system shows excellent leveling and adhesion to the surface of untreated plastic substrates (PC/PET/PMMA/ABS).
